Here are some of the things I learned from the registration cards.
Hugo John Stahl was 35 years old and lived at 1136 Concord, Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. He was born on 5 May 1885 and was married to H. Barbra Stahl. He worked in the service claims for Saxon Motor Company. He had blue eyes, brown hair, a medium height and build.[3]

At the FHL they have some software on the computers that will allow you to edit the images and move the two pages of these records next to each other. It is called infanview and is freeware. http://www.irfanview.com/
ReplyDeleteI love the details that the WWI Draft registration cards give. I have answered several research questions using them. I was interested in Glenn's comment. I have often wanted to clean up the separated pages of these records.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I really wish more of my ancestors were involved with the wars because these records are so good! They give so much information that you might not otherwise find.
